AI image upscaler

Make a small or low-resolution photo large enough to print, crop or share, without the soft, smeared look of a normal resize. Pixelyft Enhance upscales up to 4K and cleans up blur, noise and compression in the same pass.

Why ordinary resizing looks soft

When an image editor makes a photo bigger, it has to invent the new pixels. Classic resizing averages the neighbouring pixels, so edges spread out and fine texture turns into a smooth blur. The photo is larger, but it does not look any sharper.

An AI upscaler works differently. It recognises edges, textures and shapes in the pixels that are there, and draws the enlarged version with clean edges and fine detail instead of averaging them away.

What AI upscaling can and cannot do

Upscaling works best when the detail is present but small: a photo saved at a low resolution, a cropped section of a larger shot, or an image that was compressed for a messaging app.

It cannot recover detail that the camera never recorded. Pixelyft is instructed to sharpen only what the source pixels support and to leave unclear areas soft rather than invent them, so very small or heavily blurred faces may stay soft. Always compare the result with your original before you print or publish it.

How to upscale an image with Pixelyft

Upscaling is part of the Enhance tool, so one job handles size, sharpness and noise together.

  • Add a JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC photo of up to 10 MB below.
  • Sign in or create an account. Your photo is carried into the workspace.
  • Start Enhance. The result is produced at up to 4K with the same framing as the original.
  • Drag the comparison slider to check fine detail, then download the result.

Good reasons to upscale a photo

Upscaling is most useful when you need more pixels than you have.

  • Printing an older phone or digital camera photo at a larger size
  • Cropping into part of a photo and keeping it sharp
  • Recovering a picture that was compressed by a messaging app or social network
  • Preparing a small product photo for a listing that needs a larger image

A few useful answers.

How large is the upscaled image?

Enhance produces its result at up to 4K resolution and keeps the framing and composition of the original. The exact pixel dimensions depend on the shape of your photo.

Will upscaling make a blurry photo sharp?

It reduces blur and sharpens edges where the original contains enough information. It cannot restore detail that was never captured, so heavily blurred areas may stay soft. Our guide on how to unblur a photo explains which kinds of blur can be improved.

Does upscaling change faces?

Enhance is instructed to keep every person the same individual, with the same expression, moles and freckles, and to do less to faces that are too small to resolve. AI can still interpret small details, so check faces at full size before using the result.

What files can I upload?

JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC/HEIF images of up to 10 MB each.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. An account that has never paid gets a free Enhance, so you can check the result on your own photo before subscribing. No card is needed to try it.
